Join the Don Berner Big Band for their Season Launch: The Don Berner Big Band Rocks the '80's! on Saturday, October 3rd at 7:30pm at the Muttart Theatre(Basement, Stanley A. Milner Library).

Edmonton’s best big band meets the decade of the biggest hits, hair, and shoulder pads when the Don Berner Big Band Rocks the ‘80’s! Walk down memory lane as the likes of Prince, Huey Lewis and the News, Toto, Wham, Harry Connick Jr. and more will be performed in arrangements both authentic and reimagined! It’s as much a party as a concert when the DBBB performs music from one of the 20th century’s most memorable decades! Grab your headbands, polo shirts, and acid wash jean jackets to join in on the fun! This project is supported by the Edmonton Arts council, the City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Downtown Business Association and the Alberta Government through the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

The Don Berner Big Band is the city of Edmonton’s flagship large jazz ensemble. An Edmonton jazz favourite for over a decade, the Don Berner Big Band became the first professional large jazz ensemble in Edmonton to have a fully programmed concert season in 2021. Featuring Edmonton’s best jazz musicians, the Don Berner Big Band presents an eclectic season drawing from classic big band and swing repertoire, collaborations with contemporary and pop artists, adaptations of works from other mediums, and more with a variety of special illustrious guests, all presented in the Muttart Theatre in the heart of Downtown Edmonton!
